Replacing your old standby lotions, shampoos, cosmetics, etc., with cruelty-free brands can be a daunting task. There are a lot of products to weed through, some better than others. Then, there is the challenge of knowing if something is really cruelty-free. Many companies claim to be cruelty-free but obtain ingredients along the way from suppliers who DO test on animals. For products that are 100% cruelty-free from start to finish, always remember to look for the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics bunny logo.

Here are some of my favorite products! What are yours?

Lotion—Avalon Organics
I find two general problems with lotions. They are either so thick you can’t squeeze them out of the bottle or they are thin and watery and you have to spend hours rubbing it in to your skin. Not so with Avalon Organics! Their lotions are creamy and moisturizing without being overly thick. The perfect combination. My favorite scents are lemon and lavender.

Body Soap—EO
I love this soap! It lathers up nicely and makes the whole bathroom smell wonderful.

Shampoo—Nature’s Gate
You can easily spend a small fortune on cruelty-free shampoos; fortunately Nature’s Gate provides some relief to the wallet! It has a wonderful scent and leaves my hair feeling soft and clean.

Conditioner—Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat
I’ve tried several conditioner, but this one is my favorite. It doesn’t require a lot to work into my hair. It feels smooth and silky — and it smells so clean!

Facial Cleanser—Avalon Organics Essential Lift
This facial cleanser feels so luxurious going on your face, almost like velvet. After washing with it, my skin is clean, soft and smooth.

Facial Moisturizer—Jason
I bought this for my husband, but I use it everyday! I love the cocoa butter scent. It is very thick and absorbs right into the skin. (He likes it, too, so I’d better stock up!) Next up, I’ll be trying their tea-time anti-aging creme.

Baby Soap—Dr. Bronners
A friend of mine has been using this for a while and brought some over for me to try. I’m so glad she did! I love it! I need a tough, yet gentle soap to scrub out markers, paints, food and who knows what else from my toddler’s skin and this soap works like a charm.

Self Tanner—Alba
The first thing I noticed about this sunless tanner was how good it smelled. I have never come across a sunless tanner that didn’t stink! This one moisturizes your skin nicely. In about 3 hours I started to notice a nice glow to my skin.
I’ll be doing more posts on the products I’ve found that I like so if you have any suggestions on things you like, I would love to hear about them.
